Its nice to see what Mazda actually has to say about the design and future of the RX Vision holistically. If you haven’t already read their piece, I suggest you do. I’m not aware of any manufacturer that talks about their vehicles so technically and with the passion they have:

Length: 4,389mm about as long as a 1st gen eclipse
Width: 1,925mm about as wide as a 1st gen new mini cooper
Height: 1,160mm about as tall as a 2000gt
Sized well IMO

The way Mazda throws around “SKYACTIV TECHNOLOGY” (always in all caps) you’d think it was some revolutionary new engine tech, but something tells me it’s just branding.

I think it pretty much is, like Ecoboost is to Ford.

Is there an English captioned/overdubbed version of the unveiling anywhere?

geeze that’s incredible. I want those dimenions. I was able to get a rough measurement of the parking gates at garages around where I work and they seem to have about a 44” clearance. All I’d have to do is drop that RX 2” and I can start saving money :D

That was really good. There’s a bit of marketing fluff in there, but they’re also fairly direct.
capture the spirit of the KODO design language without relying on character lines or other such elements
This is very true of the car. While Nissan, Lexus etc are busy creating over-done designs full of character lines, Mazda has generally stuck to making pretty cars. And this is no exception - barely a line on the thing, but beautiful as just about anything ever.
It’s starting to remind me of the 8C’s debut. That sense of
“this is perfect, why the hell isn’t anyone else doing something like this”

Often, the more character lines a car has, the less character.
